Freestanding mode is a unique ability to the Sprite Suspension Scooter that allows you to "park" your scooter without a traditional kickstand.
To put it in freestanding mode, pull the black folding lever (found on the T-bar, close to the deck) with your toe (this can be tricky at first, but practice makes perfect!).
Let the front of your scooter deck gently touch the ground, without folding up all the way. Now your scooter is in freestanding mode! Use this when you need to park your scooter anywhere.
