FAQ / Knowledge Base

Accounts

I’ve ordered from you in the past. Does that mean I have an account?

The short answer- no.

We do not force customers to create an account with us when placing an order on our site. When you order from us without creating an account, you’ve placed a guest-checkout order.

My last order was a guest-checkout order. I’ve since made an account. Can you add the order into my account?

We are not able to add guest-checkout orders into customer accounts. Apologies! These types of orders are “hardwired” as guest-checkout orders and are unable to be added to your account history. Additionally, orders completed as ‘guest-checkout’ do not qualify for reward points post account creation. Please note, you are still able to track guest-checkout orders (once they've shipped) via the tracking email we send. We send tracking emails out the moment an order has left our warehouse.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us or call us at 888-236-5657.

Shipping & Handling

Where's my order?

You can see the status of your order here or log into your account to see your order's status.

My order was marked as delivered but I haven't received the package. What do I do?

If your order was shipped via UPS, please give UPS a call as soon as you realize that the package is missing at 1-800-PICK-UPS.

If your order was shipped via USPS (Post Office), please give USPS a call as soon as you realize that the package is missing at (800) 275-8777.

Oftentimes, UPS and USPS are able to track down the package within a day or two, and generally speaking, missing package claims are resolved in 2-8 business days. If you need help contacting UPS or USPS, give us a call at (888) 236-5657 or send us an email.

Missing package claims must be filed with the carrier and/or Micro Kickboard within 30 days of the marked delivery date.

How much does shipping cost?

Loyalty Members, SMS subscribers and newsletter subscribers have access to free ground shipping on all orders, all the time! Otherwise, for orders containing bikes/scooters, the shipping fee is $9.99 per order; we ship these orders via UPS Ground. The $9.99 fee holds true for an order containing just one scooter or multiple scooters.

The shipping rates posted above are only applicable within the continental 48 states.

**Free shipping discounts are not valid for for orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

For most smaller parts/accessories, we offer free shipping via USPS (Post Office) to the continental 48 states.

For orders shipping outside of the continental 48, please call us to order: we have a toll-free telephone number, (888) 236-5657, and are open Mon-Fri from 9am to 5pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).

I don't have the original shipping package. How do I package a return?

Firstly, we do not require you to return merchandise in the original shipping box. Please feel free to use any type of box in which the product return can comfortably and snuggly fit. In terms of packaging the item(s), please wrap the goods in newspaper or brown “shipping paper” to prevent scratches along the way.

We have found that the Post Office (USPS) is generally the most-affordable carrier for product returns. In order to offer a full refund/exchange value for returned merchandise, we must receive the returned merchandise in a “brand new” condition (i.e. the returned goods can be sold to someone else as new/unused). Returns must be completed within 30 days of the original purchase.

Please contact us if you have any questions or need help. You can call us at (888) 236-5657 and our office is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm EST.

Parts & Warranty

Where can I find the serial number on my Micro scooter or other Micro product?

You can find a guide to help find your serial number here.

What is covered under the Micro Kickboard warranty?

All of Micro's products come with a 2-year warranty against manufacturer defects; the warranty is also included for items in our Sale Section (used, discontinued, etc).

The warranty covers defects on material and workmanship under normal use.

What is NOT covered by our limited warranty?

  • Normal wear-and-tear on parts, including wheels, grips, and brakes
  • Theft and/or lost items
  • Secondhand, modified, or altered product
  • Poorly maintained product (ie left outside / rust / oxidation) and/or failure to follow instructions & warnings in owner's manual
  • Problems that result from external causes such as accident, abuse or misuse (excessive load, aggressive riding/tricks, etc)
  • Usage that is not in accordance with product instructions
  • Failure to perform preventive maintenance
  • Problems caused by using accessories, parts, or components not supplied by us

The warranty is only applicable to the original purchaser and is only valid within the United States; the warranty does not extend outside of the USA. Micro-brand scooters are designed for personal commuting (aka "sidewalk surfing") and are not designed for commercial or rental use.

You can sign-up for the warranty on our website here.

I own a different brand of scooter. Will Micro Kickboard parts fit my scooter?

Our parts are specifically manufactured by Micro-Mobility for use with Micro-brand scooters; this means that our parts are not going to be compatible with any other brand scooters or kickboards. Our bolts, springs, brackets, and other parts are uniquely engineered (e.g. length, material, shape) for usage solely with Micro-brand scooters.

Please refrain from ordering our parts for non-Micro scooters and kickboards; they are almost guaranteed not to fit and return shipping is the responsibility of the customer. Instead, we would encourage you to contact the manufacturer of your scooter for parts and service— this is always the safest approach. If your brand doesn’t offer such amenities, we’d say that this is a strong reason to choose Micro for your next scooter purchase.

My scooter has a broken part that does not look like it can be repaired. What can I do?

Our micro scooters feature a “modular” design— this means that all of the scooters’ parts are unique and replaceable: wheels, brakes, decks, and even scooter frames & chasses. If you require a replaceable part that you do not see online, please feel free to contact us by calling us at (888) 236-5657 (Mon-Fri, 9am to 5pm EST) or email us.

If you aren’t sure which scooter part you require, we are more than happy to view photos of your scooter, particularly the area(s) requiring attention. Please send the photos to us via email if you would like us to offer a proper diagnosis.

My child has outgrown their scooter and I would like to pass it down to another child. What parts should I buy to make it unique for the second child?

The first thing people normally do when passing a Mini or Maxi down from one child to another is change the deck color! Changing the deck on a Mini or Maxi is as simple as removing eight Phillips-head screws and BOOM! You have a totally different looking scooter.

Aside from that, the most common Micro Mini and Maxi parts that wear down over time with regular use are the wheels, brake, and handlebar grips. All of our parts are quite easy to install with most parts having instructional videos on YouTube. Also, we sell replacement parts for all of products.

Do the air-filled (rubber) wheels work with the Micro Classic, Flex Series, or Suspension Scooter?

Yes, the 200mm air-filled tires are indeed compatible with the Micro Classic, Flex Series, Suspension Scooter, and any other scooters we offer with 200mm stock wheels in front and back. The air-filled tires are great for riding on bumpy, rough, and uneven surfaces, though they are a tad slower than polyurethane wheels on smooth pavement.

Returns & Exchanges

How do I return an item? What items are eligible for return?

Firstly, helmets are not returnable/exchangeable. We recommend measuring your child's head before purchasing a helmet. Also, all items listed in our Warehouse Deals and Insider Deals sections are not returnable as all sales of Warehouse Deals and Insider Deals items are final.

Otherwise, you are welcome to return any scooters, bikes, parts, or accessories as long as they are new and unused and returned within 30 days from the date of purchase.

Holiday Returns: For orders placed between November 1st and December 31st, we offer an extended return window through January 31st. Upon receipt of any returned items, we will process the refund within 2-3 business days. We also reserve the right to refuse any returns that are not received in new/unused condition.

Item Received as Gift?

If you received the item as a gift, we are able to offer store credit for any returned items; the store credit would equal whatever the purchaser spent on the item in the original order. For this to work, the item(s) need to be originally purchased on our direct website (www.microkickboard.com) with an accompanying order number. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding returns:

The helmet I ordered doesn't fit my child. Can I return it?

Rather than trying to guess which scooter helmet size is good for your kiddo, we strongly suggest measuring the circumference of your child’s head to ensure a snug fit. All of our kids scooter helmets are adjustable; this means that there is a range of about two (2) inches of adjustability for each particular size. Our Micro-brand helmets, for instance, feature the following size ranges:

  • Micro V1 Helmet Sizes:
    • Small: 48 – 53cm (about 18.9 – 20.9 in)
    • Youth Medium: 53 – 57cm (about 20.9 – 22.4 in)
    • Youth Large: 57 - 61cm (about 22.4 - 24.0 in)
  • Micro V2 Helmet Sizes:
    • Extra Small: 46 - 50 cm (about 18.1 to 19.6 inches)
    • Small: 48 - 53 cm (about 18.9 to 20.8 inches)
    • Medium: 52 - 56 cm (about 20.4 to 22 inches)

You will want to measure your kiddo’s head just above the ears & all the way around to determine the needed helmet size; this measurement is essentially where the scooter helmet will be resting upon your child’s cranium.

Do you extend your return window for the holiday season?

Yes, we do extend the return window during the Holiday season. For all orders placed between November 1st and December 31st, you have until the end of January (January 31st) to return new/unused items.

I ordered one of your products on Amazon and would like to return/exchange my purchase. Can I send the item to you directly?

We are not able to offer refunds or exchanges for purchases made on Amazon.com (and other online sale sites). As Amazon.com (and any other sale site) is the entity receiving your payment and fulfilling the order, you will need to contact them regarding any returns/exchanges. For Amazon returns, you will want to log into your Amazon account (www.amazon.com) and click on “My Orders.” Then, select the transaction in your order history and click on “Return an Item” to initiate your return.

We are also happy to assist you in coordinating an Amazon return— please contact us if you encounter any difficulties, we are here to help!

Do you have a price matching policy?

If you have already made a purchase:

Micro Kickboard offers price-matching for purchases made within the past fourteen (14) days. If you purchased something from our website within the past fourteen (14) days and now it’s on sale, please contact us for assistance.

If you have yet to make a purchase and see something on-sale somewhere else (but not on our website):

Please purchase the item from that vendor directly. There are times when we allow our retailers to offer scooters at prices that are lower than on our website. We do not price-match in these circumstances and encourage you to purchase the item from that retailer directly.

Tips for Product Selection

What is the difference between the Maxi Original or Maxi Deluxe?

The Maxi Deluxe is our most updated version, available in the latest color combinations with matching anodized T-bars. The Deluxe also features a hi-tech duel injection deck that offers a special anti-slip Micro logo to provide better grip when scooting. This duel injection also helps to absorb some of the vibration while riding.

Aside from the differences illustrated above, the scooters feature the same range of handlebar adjustability, have the same-size deck (footboard), and utilize the same hardware for steering and braking. You can find detailed information and photos in this blog post.

My child is large for their age. Which product should I order for him/her?

To choose between the Micro Mini and Micro Maxi, we recommend that you consider the size of the child in addition to their age. The Maxi is designed for children ages 5-12 up to 110 lbs, but may be suitable for a younger child depending on their weight and coordination. The minimum weight requirement for the Maxi is 40 lbs. This in mind, the Mini's lighter weight makes it easier to maneuver and helps build confidence for younger riders.

What product would you recommend for a heavier adult?

Our Suspension Scooter was designed with heavier adults in mind and is suitable for riders up to 250 pounds.

I'm an adult and have never used a scooter before. What product would you recommend for me?

The first thing you will want to determine is if you would prefer riding on a 3-wheeled “kickboard” or a 2-wheeled “scooter.” The key difference between a 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler is the manner in which you steer: 2-wheelers feature traditional steering in which you turn the handlebar to steer (like on a bicycle), and 3-wheelers feature our patented “lean-to-steer” technology that is similar to surfing or skateboarding.

Once you have decided which type of scooter you like, check out all of our Teen & Adult products.

My child has a motor function disability. Can your 3-wheel scooter products be used by children with limited motor function ability?

We cannot issue any “official” statement on this matter. However, we have heard from many parents of kiddos with motor function disabilities, and these parents have reported that our 3-wheel scooters are indeed easier for their kiddos to use than 2-wheel scooters. These parents have also mentioned our 3-wheel scooters tend to have a “liberating” effect for the child, as the scooter allows them to venture outside and scoot with kiddos in a way that simply wasn’t possible for them aboard a 2-wheel scooters.

It is not only youngsters that have benefitted from the advantages of a 3-wheeled ride! In fact, we’ve also heard from countless adults, both young and old, that the “effortless balance” of a 3-wheeler has allowed them to scoot when they previously haven’t been able to. People with bad knees, replacement hips, and even a prosthetic hand have been able to join in on the “sidewalk surfing” thanks to our 3-wheeled kickboards.

What size helmet should I order for my child?

Rather than trying to guess which scooter helmet size is good for your kiddo, we strongly suggest measuring the circumference of your child’s head to ensure a snug fit. All of our kids scooter helmets are adjustable; this means that there is a range of about two (2) inches of adjustability for each particular size.

Product Features & Technical Specifications

What is the difference between the Micro Classic and Flex Black?

The Micro Classic and Flex Black are very similar: they both have the same size wheels, height range, and more. The only true difference between the two is the deck: the Micro Classic features an aluminum deck that is 2 inches off the ground and the Flex is a wooden/fiberglass deck (skateboard-inspired) that is 3 inches off the ground. In theory, the flex deck offers more comfort but it is not as low-to-the-ground as the aluminum deck found on the Micro Classic. This means that the Micro Classic is a bit easier on the joints/knees but will "bottom out" more frequently. Either way, they are both great scooters!

What is the different between the Maxi Original Scooter and Maxi Deluxe Scooter?

The Maxi Deluxe is our most updated version of the Maxi 3-wheeled scooter for children and is available in the latest color combinations with matching anodized T-bars. The Maxi Deluxe also features a hi-tech duel injection deck that offers a special anti-slip Micro logo to provide better grip when scooting. This duel injection also helps to absorb some of the vibration while riding.

Is there any assembly required when I order one of your products?

A vast majority of our scooters arrived preassembled and/or with minimal assembly (5 minutes or less). We have unboxing & setting-up videos available for most products on our YouTube channel.

Here are some quick links to unboxing/assembly videos for our popular children's products:

We have videos available for most other products as well. Please search YouTube for "______ scooter unboxing" using your scooter's name or, conversely, you can browse our YouTube channel.

I ordered one of your Mini/Maxi 3-wheel scooters and the handlebar will not turn. Is there something wrong with my product?

With our 3-wheeled kickboards, you actually do not “twist” the handlebar to steer; rather, the rider leans his/her body weight from side to side to steer the kickboard. If you are standing over the kickboard and apply pressure to either side of the handlebar, you will see the wheels and steering hardware underneath react accordingly to the pressure.

This type of steering, known as “axle steering,” is very similar to the manner in which one steers when skateboarding, surfing or skiing. This is what makes the Micro Mini, Micro Maxi, and our other 3-wheeler scooters unique and fun— the scooters are stable and allow you to “surf the sidewalk!”

Are Micro luggage products FAA compliant?

Yes, the Micro Luggage and Luggage Eazy are FAA Compliant in the United States! Also, due to its compact design when folded-down, these luggage scooters can usually be used as carry-on luggage. Be sure to check with your airline for carry-on sizing allowance.

Do your air-filled wheels work with the Micro Classic, Flex Series or Suspension Scooter?

Yes! The 200mm air-filled tires are indeed compatible with the Micro Classic, Flex Series, Suspension Scooter, and any other scooters we offer with 200mm stock wheels in front and back. The air-filled tires are great for riding on bumpy, rough, or uneven surfaces, though they are a tad slower than polyurethane wheels on smooth pavement.

Our products meet all of the worldwide quality standards including ASTM, EN, ANSI, and TUV. The factory is accredited with ISO 9002 international quality standard and has a professional tooling section, plastic injection shop and production facilities. Coupled with an extremely competent R&D team, the factory is always poised to produce the best and most innovative Micro Kickboard products.

Where can I try your products before making a purchase?

We have hundreds of scooter retailers throughout the United States! To find a retailer, check out our store locator.

Please note that many retailers do not carry our Teen & Adult scooter offerings. Because of this, we always recommend calling a store prior to venturing out in-person.

What is the difference between Micro Kickboard scooter products and other brands?

Micro scooters are the premium choice on the market, and our customers can advocate that you absolutely receive your return on investment when purchasing a Micro!

Not only do our scooters outperform other brands’ products (e.g. smoother glide, better construction, quieter), they also feature “modular” designs— this means that each component on the scooter is unique and replaceable. This includes EVERY PART. From wheels and brakes to the handlebar grips and deck, every piece of every Micro product is replaceable and we sell all replacement parts here on our website.

Thus, if a replaceable scooter part wears down over time or your scooter is accidentally run over by a car or truck, we are almost always able to restore the scooter to its original glory with spare parts. Most of the time, these parts can be implemented by someone in the comfort of their own home. This allows a Micro scooter to last virtually forever!

Where is your corporate office located?

Micro Kickboard is the official US distributor for Micro-Mobility’s products and we are based in Michigan and California. We ship all merchandise out of our Grand Rapids, Michigan warehouse.

Micro-Mobility, our scooter manufacturer, is based out of Switzerland. They design all of the groundbreaking scooters and kickboards we distribute and partner with us closely.
