Tips for Regular Maintenance

Wipe Down with a Wet Cloth or Clorox Wipe Dirt and debris can accumulate on your scooter, leading to wear and tear. A quick wipe down with a damp cloth or Clorox wipe can make your scooter look brand new. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution works wonders.

Check Wheels for Debris Your scooter's wheels are the heart of the ride. Inspect them regularly for any stuck debris or damage. Micro scooters feature extra-thick PU wheels, but regular checks are still necessary to ensure a smooth ride.

Check Wheels for Flat Spots Spin the wheels by hand. They should rotate freely without any grinding noises. If you notice any flat spots or rough spinning, it might be time to replace the wheels.

Use the Brake Only to Stop Encourage safe riding habits by teaching kids to ride at a speed where they don't have to rely heavily on the brake. Overusing the brake can cause it to wear out faster.

Store in a Dry, Cool Place Proper storage prevents unnecessary wear and extends your scooter's lifespan. Store your scooter indoors, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Check for Clamp Tightness Loose parts can lead to instability and accidents. Regularly check all bolts and screws, especially around the wheels, handlebars, and deck. Ensure the handlebar is adjusted to fit between your child's belly button and mid-ribs for optimal comfort and control.

Simple At-Home Repairs

Since they’re made with such excellent construction, Micro scooters can truly last a lifetime. Over the years, you’ll want to swap out a part or two to keep your Micro riding like new! Here are a few common parts that are easy to repair at home.

Wheel Maintenance When bumpy sidewalks and miles of adventure wear down wheels, it’s easy to replace them. You’ll just need a No. 4 hex key to hold the back of the axle in place and use a wrench on the other side of the axle to do the actual loosening. Remember, the left wheel (when standing on the scooter and looking down) is reverse-threaded and will loosen only when turned clockwise.

Scooter Brake Maintenance The brake works hard to keep riders safe. Check yours for wear periodically and replace it when necessary. To install a new brake, detach the scooter's deck by removing the eight deck screws. Then use a Phillips-head screwdriver to unfasten the screws, replace the brake, and screw everything back together.

Scooter Handlebar Grip Maintenance Grips are crucial for comfort and control. First, try cleaning them with a wet cloth or Clorox wipe. If they still need an upgrade, use scissors to remove the old grips. Lubricate the new grips with water and slide them onto the T-bar frame. Allow a few minutes for them to dry, and then you’re ready to roll!
