Maxi Scooters
For riders aged 5 to 12 who fall within the typical height and weight range for their age, the Maxi Scooter is generally the right fit. It's designed for kids who love the stability of three wheels and the easy, intuitive feel of lean-to-steer riding.
Lightweight (only 5.5-6.4 lbs) and easy to handle, the Maxi makes it simple for kids to glide, turn, and even carry their ride.
Maxi Scooters are recommended for kids up to 110 lbs where one of their feet comfortably fits on the scooter deck (the other foot will be busy planting/kicking or hovering over the brake to control speed). For reference, the deck on every Maxi Scooter measures 5.5 inches wide and 12 inches long.
The Maxi Scooter T-bar also adjusts in height from 26.26-35.75 inches (measured from the ground) and is ideal when placed around the young rider's belly button or ribs.

Why are these examples of a good Maxi Scooter fit?
-
- The T-bar/handlebars are resting at the rider's belly button/ribcage area when at their lowest setting. This leaves a lot of room for growth where the handlebars can "grow up" with the rider and continue to be adjusted to sit at this "sweet spot" as the rider grows taller.
- The foot deck provides plenty of room for one entire foot to fit flat on the deck while the other foot plants/kicks or hovers over the brake.
The following images depict riders who may want to size up to a larger scooter:

Why are these riders ready to size up to a bigger scooter?
-
- The T-bar/handlebars are fully extended and are about to be too short (ideal placement for kids is at their belly button/ribcage).
- The foot deck is almost completely taken up by one foot. (With a bit more growing, this rider won't be able to comfortably fit their foot on the deck.)
Kickboard Reloaded
For teens, adults, or ages 8-12 who are considered tall or big for their age, the Kickboard Reloaded is a great option to consider. It's one of our newest rides and is designed to bridge the gap between the Maxi Scooters (ages 5-12) and the Kickboard Monster for bigger teens and adults.
The Kickboard Reloaded was inspired by you—our Micro customers! We heard from so many parents who hopped on their child's Maxi Scooter for a quick scoot and let us know that they wanted that same style of ride in an adult-sized scooter. If you've ever watched your child zooming around on their Maxi Scooter and wished you could join them, this is the scooter for you!
The Kickboard Reloaded delivers a riding experience very similar to a Maxi Scooter, making it ideal for casual riders who enjoy relaxed neighborhood cruising or want to share the ride between older kids and their parents. This ride is also convenient for parents who want to ride alongside a young rider, as it's simple to hop off and back on quickly (no kickstand needed—this ride stays upright all on its own!).
It's slightly larger overall—featuring a roomier deck (6.7 inches wide and 24.8 inches long), wider wheels, and a taller T-bar—giving growing riders (up to 220 lbs) a more comfortable fit. The T-bar has an adjustable height, ranging 28.5-39.5 inches from the ground to the tops of the handgrips (or 25.5-39.5 inches from the foot deck). The Kickboard Reloaded also features "chopper-style" bars, which have a unique shape and a wider profile.

- The foot deck provides plenty of room for one entire foot to it flat on the deck while the other foot plants/kicks or hovers over the brake.
Kickboard Monster
For teens and adults who feel confident in their riding abilities and are looking for more of a skateboard-style ride, we'd recommend the Kickboard Monster. This is our biggest three-wheel ride that is best suited for tall, heavy (up to 220 lbs), and athletic riders.
The Kickboard Monster features a large wood composite deck, measuring 5.5 inches wide and 17 inches long. The wheels are also the fattest wheels we offer on any ride—designed for the unique feeling of "surfing" the sidewalks with wide, sweeping turns. Because of the fat wheels and extra-strong deck, the steering style of the Kickboard Monster tends to feel a bit stiffer than our other scooters.
The T-bar also deserves a call out—it's interchangeable, so the rider can choose between the standard T-bar or the ergonomic joystick.
We normally recommend that Kickboard Monster riders be athletic, have previous scooter, skateboard, surfboard, or snowboard experience, and be willing (and patient enough) to learn a unique riding style.
