Raising your Child to Contribute to a Greener Earth

We even launched a Think Green scooter in which we reduce our packaging to only one, recyclable brown box. While we strive to do our part, we encourage you to do yours! Here are some fun tips to get your child on the right track to contribute to a greener Earth:

Grow a garden: This can be a fun activity for the whole family. This will not only teach your children a sense of responsibility, but also helps reduce carbon emissions by growing your food at home. This saves time, money, and energy! (and promotes healthy eating, too!)

Conserve water: Encourage your child to turn off the water while they are brushing their teeth and to limit time spent in the shower. Also, encourage use of a reusable water bottle instead of filling landfills with plastic bottles!

Scoot or walk instead of driving: Lead by example here! Scooting is twice as fast as walking and offers great exercise for you  and your child. Most Micro scooters are very light and portable, making it easy to stow in lockers or under your desk. This is a great way to spend time as a family and keep your carbon footprint low. Scooting is great for getting around the neighborhood, getting to work/school, or as convenient transportation while on vacation.

Purchase reusable bags: Plastic bags may be on their way to being banned by retailers in the U.S., but for now, these non-biodegrable bags are filling our landfills and releasing chemicals into our soils - causing harmful long term effects. A large area of concern regarding plastic bags is also the effect they are having on wildlife. Animals, too often, are found tangled or choking on plastic bag remnants.

Recycle toys and clothings: Rather than throwing away old clothing, toys, or books, recycle them or donate them to children in need. Or, check out toy share initiatives in your area to keep them out of landfills.

Setting examples and behaviors early on will result in a long-term, greener, eco-friendly lifestyle. Start children off right to preserve our beautiful scooting land for years to come!
