The Importance of Going Eco
Every year, approximately 640,000 tons of discarded fishing gear enter our oceans. This accounts for roughly 11% of all ocean plastic waste and threatens marine life by trapping animals, damaging reefs, and creating hazards for boats.
But, by re-purposing these materials, our ECO Collection helps keep plastics out of the ocean while also reducing the need for new-plastic creation.
The Recycling Process
Our ECO products are made using recycled fishing gear such as ropes, nets, and trawls that would otherwise contribute to ocean pollution. This gives discarded materials a second life in the most fun way possible!
The recovered fishing gear is transformed through a mechanical recycling process and turned into high-quality “Green Plastic.” This repurposed material is then used in portions of our ECO rides!
As part of our commitment to minimizing environmental impact, Micro also utilizes a zero-waste policy. Our ECO products are packaged with biodegradable materials and FSC-certified paper sources from responsibly-managed forests.
