Frequently Asked Questions

The Micro Mini is designed specifically for beginner riders aged 2 to 5. Its stable three-wheel design and lean-to-steer system helps young children build balance and coordination early on.
Adjustable T-bar handlebars allow the scooter to grow alongside your child, providing a comfortable fit through toddler and preschool years. While the Mini supports riders up to 110 lbs, its size and design are ideal for younger children who are just starting their scooting journey.
If your child is between 2 and 5 years old and ready for active play, a Micro Mini is ready to support them every step, glide, and turn along the way.

For most 5-year-olds, we recommend a Micro Maxi Scooter. While some children at this age can comfortably ride either model, the Maxi's larger size and taller handlebar range mean they'll be able to enjoy it for many more years as they grow.
The Maxi's adjustable handlebars extend from 26.25" to 35.75", and we generally recommend positioning them around belly-button height for the most comfortable steering and control.
The Maxi also features a wider deck and a higher handlebar range designed for growing riders, making it an excellent choice for children who are ready for longer rides, greater independence, and years of adventures ahead.
If your child is on the smaller side for their age or is new to scooting, the Mini Scooter can still be a great fit. But for most 5-year-olds, the Maxi offers the best combination of comfort today and room to grow tomorrow.

A Micro scooter is designed to last far beyond a single season. While lower-cost scooters are often replaced as parts wear out or break, most Micro scooters stay in use for years and are frequently passed down to younger siblings, family members, and friends.
Built with premium materials and precision-engineered components, every Micro Mini is designed for durability, comfort, and a smoother ride. Our patented lean-to-steer design also helps young riders develop balance and coordination naturally.
If a part eventually wears out, there’s no need to replace the entire scooter. We offer replacement parts for every scooter we make, allowing you to refresh wheels, grips, brakes, and more.
The result is a scooter that grows with your child, lasts for years, and delivers more value over time. That’s why Micro continues to earn recognition from trusted experts like Wirecutter, Parents, Forbes, and The Strategist, and why so many families choose Micro for their daily rides.

The difference between Micro Mini Scooters and other-brand toddler scooters comes down to thoughtful design and premium materials.
Mini Scooters ride on thick, high-quality polyurethane wheels and ABEC 9 bearings (meaning very little friction and an extra-smooth glide). The flexible deck is also designed to absorb any extra bumps or vibrations from sidewalks and pavement. Many lower-cost scooters use harder, stiffer materials that can create more noise and a rougher ride over time.
For children who are just learning, the added comfort can help build confidence and make riding more enjoyable. It’s one of the reasons many families notice the Micro difference from the very first ride.

Unlike traditional scooters that turn by twisting the handlebars, the Micro Mini turns when riders shift their body weight from side to side. To go left, they lean left. To go right, they lean right.
Micro designed this lean-to-steer system to help children actively develop balance, coordination, and motor skills while they ride. Because turns happen gradually through body movement, many young riders find it feels stable and intuitive.
Most children adapt to the steering style after just a few practice rides. If your child has previously used a traditional scooter, there may be a short adjustment period as they learn to lean instead of twist the handlebars. For first-time riders, however, lean-to-steer often feels natural right from the start.
